I LOVE YOU! How are you all? I don't dwell on home too much, but every once in a while I have a day where I just remember how much I love each and every one of you. I hope things are going well at home.
Well, my new companion and I are here in Utsunomiya. The members have worked so so hard to get the apartment prepared for us - stocked with food and cleaning supplies and new futon's and blankets. There were welcome signs and Christmas decorations hanging when we first got here. They are really glad to have missionaries back in the area. My companion's name is Kai Shimai and she is from Ooita, Japan. She doesn't speak English so my Japanese is getting a good work-out.
Yesterday was our first Sunday here and it was great - it's kind of nice to only have one ward to go to. Every one stays at church for forever after it's over because so many of them are from really far away that Sunday is a big opportunity to get church stuff done. They bring lunch for the little kids and kind of make a day of it. It just makes me realize that
Our first day here we talked to a girl on a train and this week we are getting together on Wednesday with some RS ladies to make some lunch together. Kind of neat that things are already underway. Her mom died last year and her brother died before that, so now she just lives alone with her dad. If you can, pray for her. Her name is Narita.
I don't have a whole lot else to say. I certainly spent enough time one the soap-box last week though so it's probably good.
I'm including a picture that Sister Derricott took of me one of my last days in Shibuya, some pictures of our apartment, and one of the church here.
Love you ALL!!!!
-Waite Shimai
PS- I got Natalie's wedding announcement and a card from Nancy Cox - tell them both thanks so much if you see them. Especially Nancy, I haven't had time to write anyone a real letter for about 2 months now.
